Its Thursday.........and its back to the blog day
Well........ I'm sorry for those who check daily but I have been rather busy so have not had time to update things. Here we go though.
First off I want to say HELLO.... to Wayne, whom believes my ramblings on here verge on drama queen, LOL. But hey, you read it Wayne so you must enjoy it too, LOL, admit it you know you do, LOL.
OK, enough about that BS. Lets see..... my plan was to clearcoat a couple cars on Sunday.... then I realized I had a couple more that were close to clear so I set out get them ready and was going to clearcoat on Monday then Tuesday and well absolutely on Wednesday..... yet today is Thursday and well they are not cleared yet. Sorry to those waiting on cars but .... I have to do things strategically and well grouping 5-6-7 cars together is a smart way and well I try to be smart in this business.
So........ I have a couple decals to make for a 67 GTO, 07 Shelby, 65 Plymouth, 04 Mustang and possibly a Sprint car. These combined the couple other cars make it more logical to shoot all at once. This way I can spend tomorrow and the weekend getting everything polished out, assembled and shipped on Monday. Then its off to round 2... ok , not really but... there are about 7 or 8 cars ready for paint and if all goes well they should get shot and cleared next week. If all goes well, LMAO........ thats an understatement to say the least.
See...... ya never know whats going to happen around here, what calls I will have to deal with and other little PITA things that take time away from cars. First off I have had to deal with UPS twice a day for the last 2 days to FINALLY... unless they call today, get that problem child Camaro claim resolved. Ugh, thier assholes..... sorry but true. Basically they tell you to fax all this paperwork to them, then 4 days later call and tell you they didn't get it all..... so you re fax and wait another 4 days then they call to ask about the damage and the product sold. So now that this is done and they have approved it I get a call the next day asking if I have replaced the damaged car yet, im like no..... I am waiting for you to play the claim. I get another ok, checks in the mail, yeah and if I was a women I would worry because we all know what the next line to that statement is, LOL. So late yesterday afternoon I get ANOTHER call from UPS wanting to discuss my invoice.
See it states I used 2 cars totally $70.00 for the project. So the guy says, well then this claim is for 2 cars.... I'm like no....... let me tell you what I created. Simple logic and its explained...... then he says...... but you still have the other good starter car, LMAO. Im like, what part of I cut the roof off that and used the windows from it on the customers car do you not understand ? The"other" starter car is junk now....as I then told him how I also had to cut up the interior bucket (which he didn't understand) to make the Camaro look correct inside too. FINALLY..... after about 15 minutes he got it. Least I think he did....... guess we will see if I get another call today.
So...... that, combined with a couple customer phone calls for pricing and I lose a couple hours or so. Point being and I have typed it before there are always little things that stop the assembly line sometimes and there is really no way around it.
I had a customer call me yesterday........ has a contract to do a 34 Ford... well when he ordered it I told him I had to check to see if I could get one with a full hood. I did and I could, though they are hard to come by, and we went forward. So..... while working on his car I come to realize that the hood he has is a full stock style. The diecast version is a modified one with openings on the sides for exhaust and a hole in the middle for a blower. So.... back in Dec while doing other bodywork I make it a stock hood. He though kinda starts bitching about the car not being done..... now remember I try to give a time frame but cannot put an exact time on anything. Just can't..... I'm not Mc Donald's. So... we discuss the car, whats done, what isn't, what I went through with Xmas orders and then the BJ's thing that took more than 2 weeks out of my life. He then gets a little crusty with me...... ok..... I can see where he sits on this. Then asked for an exact time when it will be done. I politely say, well let me look at this, pull out the work bin...... then realize I never charged him for the hood mod to make it stock. Probably....... $75.00 worth of work for free then I also, but has no bearing on it, realize he won my free paintwork gift certificate at a Good-Guys event. Anyway, I tell him......... wow..... I had to make a stock hood..... yeah, well that explains why its not done or close to being done. So.... we can do this as simple as, it will be done soon, not sure when, but soon or if you want a specific day then I would like to be paid for the work I did for FREE. Mind you he has a contract with a price. I cannot strong arm him into paying me but wanted it clear I really have put more into this then he is paying me for. He said, oh no thats fine I just wanted to know if it was going to be soon. Hmmmm...... interesting I must say. Funny how that changed when he realized he got something for free. So all is good and after some BJ's discussion life goes on.
This leads me to...... my friend who has some marketing ideas for me..... can we hurry that up a bit, LMAO. Im thinking NOW is the time I make some changes, LMAO, so put your work on the back burner, LOL, and deal with me, cause yanno its all about ME !!!!
As far as that goes. This upcoming Buick door conversion is something that I have wanted to do for years. Not something to prove a point or to solidify my ranks in the diecast modding world, just something I have wanted to do and yanno.... I better do it now since im getting older and might loose my skills soon, LMAO.
OK....... no rants ...... well kinda no rants, no pictures and no news on building the real Concept Cuda so......................

Like I said on the Pub, I am interested in purchasing this car if and when it is available. I am really looking forward to seeing this through the entire build process. Best of luck Pal
