Fridays Wet Ramblings

So its Friday morning......... not real early but I've been up for hours already. See the one thing I don't like about AZ is how my body has become accustom to the dry weather here. When it's normal we have a humidity level that barely gets above 35% but is mostly in the 5-10% range. Well when it rains of course that goes up and overnight and this morning its been raining and the humidity is 82%. No big deal you say...... well my body or should I say, my head does not like it above 65%...... because when it is I always wake early with a splitting headache and sneeze A LOT. So...... at 5 am I was up and pounding Tylenol with my coffee, LOL, while sneezing coffee out of my mouth too... not a pretty site....... me in the morning nor sneezing coffee out of my mouth, LOL.
OK, I know TMI TMI, so I will move on. I did get the Camino hood in primer yesterday but didn't have time to shoot any pictures since yesterday was HOOD DAY. Yes I typed hood day... I have 1, 32 and 2, 34 Fords I am working on and ALL of them have hoods that are not like what comes on the diecast starter car. Lets review.......LOL.
32 Roadster.... GMP brand 32, nice car, comes with a stock hood with louvers but my customers is completely smooth on the sides with a cut out for the headers and a nice custom built raised opening on the top for his blower to stick out of. So...... we first have to eliminate the louvers and then lay out , cut , trim and build the raised surround for the opening. Not a big deal but time consuming non the less.
34 Ford Coupe... Ertl High Tech... with a blower hole and header cut outs and louvers on the hood. This is the car that I mentioned back a couple blogs that the customer was antsy about but I had to inform him that I had to make the hood stock as it was a pre molded modified one. Something I should have charged for but didn't. Well..... as I was preparing that car for primer yesterday I notice in the picture of the close up of the flames that he had to long recesses on each side of the hood. Mind you the pics I used to make the stock hood were from further away and you couldn't see the recesses because of shadowing in the pictures. So I had to set about cutting those in and finishing them so they looked correct.
34 Ford Coupe.. Ertl High Tech...with a blower hole and header cut outs and louvers on the hood. Yes its the same as the other car. So this car has just a completely stock hood. No hole..... no louvers.... no header cutouts. No biggy either just time consuming.
So now with that done...... I also shot some texture on the inside of the Camino bed to see how that will turn out..... its fine but needs something extra still. I also finished the minor bodywork on the rear of the Camino and its primered and ready for paint now especially since the hoods done. So it will now be added to the 9 other cars in line for paintwork which at this time seems won't happen until this weekend. This is actually ok though as I can get them all shot with no interruptions. Actually if I think about it I could get a couple other cars ready and have at least 12 in primer for paint........ hmmmm......... do I dare push the envelope ? Guess we will see, LOL.
I did spend some time on the 40 Willys too. This is car I am doing for a customer out of NY. It was started for another customer years ago and then he bailed so I was left with the unfinished car. Its pretty cool though with a one piece tilt front end and suicide doors. The customer wanted me to make a custom interior.... so part of the completion process with perfecting the suicide doors and chassis and now I can either do something unique on the inside or use the Yatming Shinerods custom interior for the car. This is a nice interior which I can modify a little so it doesn't look like a stock diecast version, guess I will see what inspires me when the time comes.
OK......... so I have a rant........ well kinda rant......just a funny story about the Pizza that got lost. In reality I was pissed for a while but then realized what the deal was and couldn't be anymore.
So...... at 6pm last night I order my usual pizza from Rosatti's (franchise, Chicago style Pizza, only place here CLOSE to Chicago tasting pizza, and for my NY readers Chicago pizza is better, LOL, my blog , so its better, LOL). I order from them a couple times a month. Im out of there delivery area but my chat with he owner has allowed me to get them to deliver to me, whoo hoo. So back to the order.... Jennifer who answers the phone knows me plus my number comes up on caller ID, she's like same as last time Mr Fox, I'm like yep....... shes like 45 minutes to an hour, I'm like OK. So..... its 2 minutes to 7, remember I ordered at 6, and I figure he will show up anytime so I get my plate and napkin, silverware and cup for milk, yes milk I drink milk with pizza.... shuddup you guys do weird shit too even if you wont admit it.
Anyway....... 7 comes and goes...... 7:15 I'm hungry and make that phone call " Hey wheres me pizza ? " Jen, were on a first name basis now, says lemme check , does so and says its on route should be there any minute, I'm like OK. So 7:30 comes and goes....... and at 7:40 I call and say Jenn is he lost ??? Shes like hes NOT there yet ? Im like nope....... she says I will call him and see where he is and get him there ASAP..... at this point I say, you know this pizza will be cold right..... were talked over 90 minutes since I ordered. She says yes and if it is just call and they will replace it or give me a credit.
Well..... at 7:45 I get a call from the driver.... says, yeah I got your pizza I'm at Blabla and Blabla.... where are you . I said, dude.... I have no idea where you are I'm at Blabla and Blabla..... you know where that is ? He says yes..... I will be there in a minute. I said ok, I'm the 3rd street back in the Saddle Creek subdivision and the only house on the north side of the street.
Lalalalalala....... its now 8:00.... and still no pizza.....mind you I live 6 miles from the pizza place. So I have his number on caller ID and I call him...... I'm like....... are you still lost... he says apparently I am...... so I ask where he is and well he turned right instead of left where I told him and is back in town where as I live just outside of town. So I tell him to turn around and how to get back to me. He again says, ok Ill be there in a minute.....Uh HUH, LOL.
Now , remember I did tell him where I live..... Saddle Creek subdivision, 3 streets back, Mare Ave.... only house on the north side of the street. So...... its now 8:15 he is still not here so I call him again......I'm like where are you now ? He says in Saddle Creek but I cant find you..... LMAO (me laughing). I ask what street he is on.....he tells me and well he went 2 blocks back not 3 like I told him..... so I talked him to my driveway, LOL. At 8:20 the pizza arrived........ safe and sound and cold at a dead womans boobs, LOL. So he comes to the door....... I cant be pissed, he got lost.... so I fill out the CC receipt and add the $5.00 tip and tell him, sorry man thats all I can do for ya tip wise but hey, next time check the map..... he was so confused and just looked at me starry eyed like a deer caught in headlights and said OK and left.
Guess his life as a delivery driver won't last long, shit he makes less than me, LOL
OK.......I'm out and Hiya Wayne..... I missed saying hi lately, LOL.
