Tuesday Flame Day
Ok...... thats partly true. At least in a sense that I will hopefully be painting flames today. I did start masking off the Elke yesterday with the clear masking tape/paper/whatever ya call it. Its clear..... sticky and tricky to work with but will conform to all the curves and recesses on the body which is what I need.
Yesterday I also finished the front spoiler for the 70 Cuda. Below you will see a picture. I will say again that this car still needs to be polished out but the overall look is pretty cool if I must say so myself. Kind of a stealthy mean look.

So now he has a couple more projects he is interested in having done and we will see how that unfolds. One I would love to do but will not be cheap to create the other is pretty simple on the surface but not really my cup of tea so stay tuned, LOL.
On another note I did get a couple more projects in. Major ones in a sense that one is a roof conversion..... from a convertible to a hardtop. I love these since they let me create something NOBODY else has done. Creating convertibles is so..... humdrum now since anyone with a Dremel tool can cut a roof it makes it less exciting to do them, LOL. Heck even the hard ones like a 66-67 GTO where you have to do some body work and then paint the panel between the rear window and the decklid still don't command any real ohhhh's and ahhhh's since again, anyone with a Dremel can cut one. So its fun to get to do something really intense and part of the unknown, LOL.
On a personal note.... I am a little concerned here as to my living quarters. See I lease this huge home I am in and its laid out perfectly for my business. But... in reality I have about 1200 sq ft of space that is truly empty and not lived in although the rest of the space, 2100 sq ft, is filled with all that is myself and my business. Anyway....... due to my special needs (no short bus comments here, LOL) I can not just rent anything to work out of. The house I leased in OR was small, like 1200 sq ft and I seriously used about 800-1000 of it for business purposes. Here I have enough room to separate the business from the personal areas. In IL I had the same situation with plenty of room.
OK...... lets cut to the chase. My lease is up the end of May. I have asked my Realtor (all rentals are handled by Realtors here) if I can sign another year lease and initially he said it should be no problem. Well since I need time to find the right place to work out of I need to know ASAP so I can start my search if need be. So yesterday I get an email from the Realtor that the home owner (investor out of CA) thinks he wants to sell it. Funny thing is he bought the house in late 05 for 390K... then the housing market boomed here and people were selling there homes like this for 550-600K. The law in AZ is you cannot resell your investor owned home for one year. So what happens in 06 is he puts it on the market for 590K and sits on it...... while the market starts to tumble. Then he decides he needs some income and wants to lease it and I come along in June 07 and do so.
Where we are at now is an even more declining market in which like homes are selling for 340-425K and according to the Realtor he still wants 500K. Guess we will see what happens. Sadly I cannot purchase this home well..... unless all my customers what to triple what they are paying me to do there projects, LMAO. Please send cash to me at New House Fund c/o John@CustomDiecastReplicas.com LOL.
