Weekend things..... and it Monday
So I didn't blog on Friday.... I have been somewhat under the gun here and heck even this post will be a short one so no rant, LOL.
Workload has kinda caught up on me. Its all good.... but still this combined with a business issue and a personal issue just all effects my metal picture when it comes to working as it does most people.
The business part is my frustration with my partner on the RJC company as I have to build, well rebuild, these 5 customer ordered Concept Cudas and get them delivered this week. My plan was to take 5 of the sample cars we used at BJ's and make them perfect..... this means basically starting over but the biggest part is fine tuning the custom metal parts that were made for the cars.
See my partner and I have had a falling out since his mindset was in the stratosphere and when we didn't take orders/sell 50K worth of Concept Cudas at BJ's and has become disinterested in the company. As most know this was a dream of mine to create and now with his lack of involvement I am left to do everything involved in it. This means more then a couple hours of my time spend doing things he was supposed to share in and one was the reworking of these cars. At this point I have talked to him all of 5 times since Jan 20th and 2 of those times was via email. This all being said I have to complete these orders no matter what.... it really is my name on this company and I will not leave these customers high and dry. While that is all good I have had to try and fit RJC cars into the CDR mix and it just has to be done. I spent most of the weekend and parts of Thursday and Friday working on them and while I thought I would have them all painted on Saturday and cleared on Sunday I ran into one problem after the next and they are getting painted today, I hope.
Mix this in with my sadness for missing my daughters.... and it made for a mentally frustrating weekend. Mind you my daughters have lives..... the oldest being married but still they are my girls..... and even while divorced they were still a large part of my life as they should be. This is just part of life I think.... I in no way want to move back to IL..... heck I used to feel this way a couple years ago when I did live there and never saw them, LOL. I do talk to them weekly but not having them around to pick on does get to me. So with all this bullshit being typed I need to get to work but wanted to post a couple quick pictures.
69 Camaro..... lowered, custom stripes, vinyl top (not trimmed out yet) odd Cragar wheels to kinda match his 18 inch ones they don't make in diecast. I love how the picture makes the stripe looked jagged, LOL its not in real life, LOL.

1967 Corvette.... stock unpainted car with an interior repaint and sidepipes detailing. I did this about a year ago and the customer sent it back to me to do a tire and wheel swap to the aluminum torque thrusts you see. This wasn't just a wheel swap as the stock wheels all stick out a bit and look stupid so I had to rework the backing plates and now I think they look great.

This customer might want a really cool car build in the future.. its a 62 Vette body but on a late model 98-04 Corvette chassis. There is a company that builds them this way out of WA and he thinks he might want a real one (this diecast matches his real car exact) so he thought he might have me build a diecast version of the 62 to look at for a while before he decides to order one. Could a be a cool conversion, guess we will see.
OK...... Im out !

OK . . . another day of no ranting . . . what's up with that! I'm gonna have to stop coming here due to lack of ranting! LMAO!!!! Oh how I do look forward to a good rant!
The Camaro and the 'vette look sweet.
Sorry to hear about the longing pangs of missing your girls. Maybe your next vacation should be a trip to visit them!
