Tuesday.....updates and apologies

Monday is gone and Tuesday is here so that means cars got painted right ? Wrong... LOL... sometimes even the best laid plans of mice and men take a turn. Yesterday was of course another one and that being said I will touch on this a little but first off have something else to say to those who follow this blog.

To my customers who have projects in the system... I apologize, for the time it is taking to complete your mini pride and joy. If you all remember I did give you a ballpark time line on completion but due to ever changing things in this business, problems not expected, delays in getting certain parts, and just time itself I have no real excuse but to say I apologize.

Another...... and Im sure you are sick of hearing it... example is this 5 car project for my other company. As of yesterday I have 23 hours in the last 4 days invested into getting these cars done and still have yet to put paint on them. When all is said and done im sure I will have over 40 hours invested. Ironically enough my "partner" called me last night and the phone conversation was NOT a pleasant one. One that led to him offering help.. get this... in 2 weeks, LOL. It will all be done this week and that will be that.

My point is I am one human being who does the best he can in the time allowed. I like all of you have to make a living but for me to cut corners in order to push out cars just causes me more work in the end. So, here I am doing what God has given me the talent to do as fast as I can. Please remember I cannot burn the midnight oil doing this or burnout happens and I can't have that since I have some really really cools projects coming up I am excited to do. Heck as it is I work every day of the week and spent 5 hours Easter Sunday on cars. Talk about dedicated huh ?

I mean its not just one guy or another guy its every project.... they all get pushed back due to whatever...... be it something I have never done (elaborate flames) or a intricate roll bar, too creating new backing plates for a wheel swap. All of this is again into the unknown and time consuming.

Im not complaining, just explaining thats all. I appreciate all the business and the fact that I have it. Its easy to say I need to prioritize but in reality I do... but when I guesstimate  2 hours for something or even 4 hours and it takes 6.... well then all I can do is keep moving forward because I cannot go back. In the end it will all get done...... unless of course I leave this planet and spend the rest of my spiritual life with my late wife in heaven, LOL. Hmmmm...... I wonder if they have diecast cars in heaven ?

Ok...... Im out !

    OK . . . now that I've tried the tears from my eyes . . .

You're really trying my patience here John . . . another day witout a rant . . . what's up with that . . . are you going soft on us here? Turning into a girlieman? Come on man . . . spew some venomous musings on mankind's inability to think!

All kidding aside, I do enjoy the blog as it opens up a window into your world but the rants really make me laugh and I sometimes need that. So get off your a** and start ranting or I'm gonna take my ball and bat and find another Custom Diecast artist's blog to follow. I'm sure there are plenty of WalMarts out there . . . .

    Later!

John, don't worry, we (at least I) stand behind you. You're great. and the work speaks for itself. I waited a long time before I found you, so a little more makes no difference. Incidentally, there will be die cast cars in your heaven, but never any problems. You will think about what you want and the parts will fit perfectly, paint will always flow smoothly and details will be way cool. Hopefully you will experience that nirvana before you leave this planet as well LOL.
