Tuesdays Too Do Day
Well yesterday was a very interesting yet positive day. As you know I posted the Corvette with the chipped nose on the blog for Monday and every time I walked near the shop yesterday morning I cringed, LOL.
I really didn't want to deal with this Corvette issue. But....... I have no choice right ? I mean its not going away...there is nobody else to do it.... it has to get done... if I ignore it I only hurt myself.... so whats a guy to do ?
Well that guy did what he had to do and I fixed the problem and did what was necessary to get the car repainted and you see it here.

So...... this along with the other couple things I wanted to get done made yesterday a great day. The only thing I didn't paint was the 34 Ford with the flames. I still had to trim some more of the clear mask on it and just didn't feel like it.
As you see we have the new Eleanor convertible replacement car, a 1/16 dragster body in purple blue and the stripes (metallic blue to match the rockers) on the 68 GT500. Oh and what's that in the background ? That's part of something for the other company not yet leaked to the public.
You can see by the over spray in the grill area of the Shelby how much of a pain it is to spray stripes on but you can't get metallic decal paper so its the only way to do it. Once cleaned up and reassembled it will look fine.
Today I would love to clear the huge lineup of cars I have but I doubt that will happen as I really don't have enough clear to do them all and will need to go to the paint supplier...... but lets see whats up for the clear coat stage.
57 T Bird ,Inca Gold
67 GTO, Black needs pinstripe added first
98 Corvette, Red
69 Chevelle, Gold
93 Camaro, Teal, problem child car, LOL
57 T Bird Red, hood and roof
07 Corvette.... yeah..... LOL
68 Shelby, White.... all this car needed were the stripes
Dragster body
70? Torana, Brown
69 Corvette, White
Mind you these all needs there emblems created and attached also but thats no biggy for these.
Now if I want to wait a day or two and get the stripes on the Eleanor (have to be painted as they are metallic also) I could add that to the list.
It would seem that I have a cash cow sitting in front of me in cars to be clear coated but alas I do not. Some of these are repair or replacement cars (93 Camaro, Eleanor, 07 Vette) some were smaller jobs that I have already been paid for (Shelby, both T Birds, 98 Corvette, Torana, 69 Corvette) so as much as I need to get these done and out of here I really need to move them out so I can work on other paying jobs next. Its all part of the company cash flow in this business.
Well..... I am not sure what all I am going to do today but this I can tell you.... Im done blogging now, LOL.
OK... Im out !

Shelby looks cool. I have a lineup, with a '65 GT350 by Lane, a '66 GT350 by Lane, a '67 GT350 by Lane, all white with blue stripes. The plain white GT500KR looked sad, now it can match it's brothers with its new stripes. You have made a little car very happy and proud. It's brothers will be happy to see it again. Now, the Ertl '69 white GT500 convert will be begging me to have it striped --- thankfully, it has side stripes.

John;
Good to see my dragster is underway....The color is dead-on for what I had in mind....After having read of your various trials and tribulations related to your chosen occupation, one can see why your work is in such demand....Maybe I should have read the blog first before sending a WTF? e-mail, but....Sorry I had to rattle your cage a few weeks back....Just wanted to know that you didn't forget about me....Looks great, thanks for getting it started....Look forward to receiving it and decaling it up!
