Im Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack !
Well...... everything is back to normal at blog central now, yeah! Had a little Go Daddy server issue and was originally told all content was lost but as you see it wasn't. What a bonus huh ? For as large a company as Go Daddy is they sure are a technical mess sometimes. Oh well such it life right ?
I want to thank all of you who emailed me direct to let me know, first that the blog was down and second, to make sure I didn't close it due to frustration. While I have thought about that lately I doubt I will. Seems I do have more readers then what I thought, just some who never post/reply to anything.
Ok...... so here we are on a HOT HOT HOT Tuesday morning, well not that hot yet, but it was 109 here yesterday..... supposed to be the same today but will drop to a high of the mid 70's on Thursday. When I moved here a year ago we didn't hit our first 100+ until the middle of June. Oh well..... I work inside so it really doesn't effect me unless I want to be out in it.
Speaking of out in it I decided I needed to get close to nature Sunday morning and at 8am decided to pack my dog and some water and head somewhere. Somewhere that had mountains.... and I mean real mountains, not the ones I have out my back door as pictured below.

So I decided to head south to Coronado National Forest and Mt Lemmon. I took a route off the expressway that was through a scenic area which was part of state land. It was 80 when I left, figured I would drive about an hour then find a state park go for a walk on one of the many trails and head back by noon. That was the plan.... and well we know with me the plan normally changes, LMAO.
Actually the drive and views (forgot the camera of course) where great. Especially when you think about the history and the old west names that have crossed these paths. Kinda moving if you really experience it.
So the drive was great and the closer I got to Mt. Lemmon the more awe inspiring it was. Once in the area and I had been driving an hour I decided to find a state park. Since I really wasn't geared up for or in the good enough health for a day hike I thought just something small would work. I decided to stop at Catalina State Park, about 2700 feet up, not exactly mountainous but its still beautiful. Mind you I could walk the trail to Mt Lemmon from here but at 8600' I think I would run outta air and be dead pretty quick, LMAO. Hey im being honest im no Bruce Jenner here, LOL. Actually im more like Joey Bagadonuts, LOL, for those who remember him. Plus its over 22 miles to make that loop and the dog and I are only good for like a mile, LOL.
Well once we find a spot to park and decide what trail to take I get the 3 bottles of water, the dog , leash and away we go. I picked a 1 mile trail which is supposed out be filled with birds hence the name the Birding Trail. Yeah... I saw more birds on the sign saying Birding Trail then on the trail. They should have renamed it the gecko trail as there were lizards everywhere.
Ok....... well off we go...... great sites, sounds and smells, yeah smells....blooming cactus have some great smells. Hey, call me gay, but im just saying it beats what comes out of the bathroom after the morning ritual thats all, LOL. Anyway..... about half way through my poor dog is exhausted. So much so we have to stop about every 20 feet so she can lay down and rest. I kept pouring water down her throat and on her feet as it was probably 85 by now. We used to walk around the subdivision where I live and I always thought it was somewhere between a half and a mile in length but it is all flat. This was so NOT flat I think she just well.... is fat and outta shape, LOL. So I nursed her along with shade, little rests and all the water till we got back to the car. She was so spent I had to pick her fat 80# ass up into the car (shes a Yellow Lab).

So we leave and I wanted to stop and get her more water and a cup to drink it out of and upon doing so realized I am not light headed and dehydrated. So I had to pound down some Gatorade and after getting her more water it was back to home for us.
The trip, while overall great lost some of this fun with my concern about the dog. While I love my dog I think I will do any future trips alone so I don't run into this problem again, LOL. Oh, and me........ well I think I had a little heat stroke as I was sick the rest of the day Sunday. When I got up yesterday the first thing I noticed was how much sun I had gotten. Im fine now but I did learn a little lesson and that was even the simple trails you need to be properly clothed and hydrated.
So here is a shot of a Corvette I have been working on finishing forever, LOL. He has flames all over his engine and while I have tired to duplicate these many ways via decal I finally succumbed to hand painting them. They are close, very close to done. Once the have fine tuned them I will clear coat the whole engine compartment and it should look great. Also you see the final sample of the converted Lambo wheels to create is one off custom wheels. I covered these a long time ago on here and want to add that once the large wholes are cut the little triangles take about an hour per wheel to cut, trim and sand to look proper. Ahh yes the $50.00 tire and wheel swap, LMAO. More like $250.00 tire wheel swap but hey, I know how to make these now. Sorry about the blurry picture of the wheel.

Ok........ thats it.....
Im Out !
