Tuesday... lets all paint
So we have another day in the books and for this week I'm actually on track, LOL, so far. I say this as I got the problem Camaro shipped and the box of cars for Doug (6 cars, comic books, action figures and who knows what else got shipped to me by mistake). So Douglas..... if your reading this....your box will be waiting for you when you get to LA.
I thought I was going to get the flame painted engine Corvette out of here too but he again added a couple more things to the "to do" list. Mind you I would whine about this but with all that happened on this project I decided not to. I had to add screening to the rear brake ducts on the bumper and cut and fit some on the fender coves since this diecast car doesn't have them cut in. The cool part was they are normally open holes and he added screening to his so it actually was easier for me.
That car leaves today..... the other 4 T-Birds get painted today plus whatever else I can add to the work mix....... yes people I know you all want me to work on your car and I will........ in time. It does all come together and this is the result most feel.

John
You are a master craftsman! It looks truly amazing!!
I'm not saying that to be cute, but it does look surprisingly like the
real car. I am very proud of your work!
This is from the customer with the flamed engine Corvette. Thats what hope all my customers say when they get their replica but it does take time.
Speaking of Corvettes...... Atomic Orange customer will NOT pay me when done and even went so far as to say he, on good faith, paid up front to do the car and I in good faith should trust him to pay me when I ship it back to him. That its my fault for not telling him their were 3 different paint shades and even though he saw the pictures before hand the color was not close so he wont trust my pictures of the car and chip side by side.
See this is the problem.... the chip laid on the car, shot in 3 different light settings will provide more than enough proof that the color matches. So at this point that is my response and if he doesn't like it I will be sending the car back and doing nothing else except im sure fight with the credit card company.
OK......... couple more things...... first off Direct TV..... DIDN'T show up by 12 like they were supposed too. I spent a couple minutes on the phone arguing with them again..... basically for the $100.00 credit on my account for them not showing up on time then was told they would be here by 4 and then showed at 4:30. Figures huh ?
I know I promised pictures but didn't get them shot though will this morning so if you read this without pictures then come back later. No big deal though.... just a couple shots.
If you recall months ago I had quoted a customer to do his 65 Belvedere altered wheelbase A F/X race car called El Toro. I wanted to do the car but couldn't sell myself short price wise so I shot him a $800.00 figure with the additional 15% contingency ($120.00) then never heard back. Well I did hear back on Sunday that he has no problem with the cost and wants to go forward. I mean we are talking this dated back to Feb 21st. He did say though they have been finishing the car up for the upcoming season. See this was a prominent race car back in the 60's and he completely restored it for nostalgia racing nowadays.
OK......I have a mini rant about a modder from another country. Seems a customer of his wants some germen sports cars painted but he has never taken one apart. So whats he do .....asks other modders for help. Mind you asking for help is fine but when you profess to be the best and can't live without constant attention about your work then how come you can't figure out how to take a toy apart ? I mean really.... it does kinda make you look like an idiot. You in the business of modding and painting cars but are so afraid to try and do something you never have that you have to ask for help ? Ugh...... if this were the case 3000 cars ago I would have quit. As I have said before..... grow some balls and just do it.
OK..... now I'm out !

I smell a RAT. I think 'Atomic Corvette Man' is trying to put one over on you. Stick to your guns, John.
